V.Smile Is It Worth It?

by Lynette

The V.Smile was released last Christmas and like most modern day parents me and DH just knew we gotta have it for our kids for the holidays. So we bought it, the whole set that came with a free game cartridge and a joystick. We have two kids who are ready for this so we bought an extra joystick. The verdict?

Well, they loved it. They still do pull it out and play but like any educational toy, adult interaction is in my opinion so very important. You just can’t get a toy like this and leave them to themselves especially if you’re talking about really little kids 4-5 who aren’t quite exposed to these things yet. It’s not that the games are bad. Not at all. It did help my then pre-schooler get a better grasp of her letters and think her way out of difficult spots however, if an adult doesn’t play the game with them
at least several times in the beginning, they get lost.

The cartridge that came with the set contains lots of games, many my girls just haven’t gone through yet because they enjoy one game so much better. We only bought one extra cartridge since so we’re not sure about the rest but the Care Bear one we purchased only had one game.

The one mistake we did which really isn’t a mistake since they didn’t have it then was not to get an adapter. This thing takes 3 D sized batteries and they run down so quickly and it doesn’t help that the kids don’t turn it off.

We all like it for sure and we have little competitions definitely will get more games so they don’t get so bored with it. They have since come out with lot’s of different V.smile products for younger kids to older ones.

We bought the V Smile for my boys last Christmas too. It was definitely worth the money. They’ll play with it for a while and get bored with it. So I’ll put it away for a couple of months. When they’re bored again, I’ll pull it out again and it’s like a new toy. Gotta love it!

That’s true. That’s one way to lessen the mess and get more use out of those expensive toys. Put them away for a while then pull them out again.
