Time’s Up

by Lynette

Last week, my oldest child decided she doesn’t want to go to school anymore. Yeah… the day every mom just looks forward to… not. Her younger sister has given me less problems but occasionally will decide to ‘be like big sister’ oh… joy. I’ve been trying to figure out fun ways to make morning time more enjoyable for them and less stressful for me when I saw this neat little gadget featured on the Today show this morning. It’s Learning Resource’s Time Tracker.

How does it work? Well basically you set a time and it’ll count down starting with the green light and as time passes, the lights will change from green to red and (apparently) when time’s up, it’ll announce “Time’s Up!” Sounds like a great idea and I am so tempted to purchase it.

At $35 it’s OK not exactly my budget for something I think is simple - yeah I’m cheap ;-)…But then again, it’s a small price to pay for better mornings - and bed times too. Anybody knows of any similar product for less?

that sounds cool, could really do with that at homework time which really drags on and on !!!.. I suppose you could just use an egg timer or a timer on your phone, but I do like the idea of the lights and the “times up !!” warning

I’m sitting watching tv with laptop on my knee and I’m watching Nanny 911 and guess what she’s using the exact timer you are talking about for time out !! thought that was funny seeing as I’d never even heard of it before today !

LOL These people sure got lot’s of press today around the world! Now isn’t that insteresting. Did it work on the show? What do you think of it now?

I use the timer too but the thing with this countdown lights is they can actually see the time ‘counting down’. I’ll have to save up for this and yeah, homeworks sounds like a great idea. I read the reviews on Amazon. People seem to like it and it works but they say it’s difficult to program.
