Every Mom Needs a FLIP

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

I just got the amazing little camera known as the FLIP and it truly makes me want to do flips.  It is so easy to operate, small, cute, and makes super digital videos.  I was so surprised by its size and sleekness and that it could be so small and produce such a great little video.  Then, I could pop it right into the computer via USB and it would upload so quickly.

The particular FLIP that I have has 2 GB of storage space and will record 60 minutes of video.  It is small, black and silver and comes with a cute little carrying bag.  It is literally point and shoot with the click of one little button.

I think this little camera is perfect for a mom because it is so easy to use, small enough to carry with you anywhere and capture those fun memories of your children that you can never recreate.  Plus, as easy as it is to upload them to your computer you can have them saved on to DVDs in no time, securing your memories forever.

Teach Mini Video Lessons And Earn

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

You know they say everyone is an expert in something. We all are a bit more knowledgeable than some in certain areas. But now it’s easier and easier to share and earn from your knowledge.

MindBites is a sort of ‘pay per view’ system of your own. Create videos of what you know, upload it. Set a price or make it free then share it. There is no fee to post and host the videos. People who are interested to watch the videos have to purchase credits. Credits cost between $1.69 and $1.99 based on the volume people purchase. You get $1 of the share, or choose to donate that to a charity of your choice.

Granted, earning 50% - 60% is a pretty big bite to give MindShare. On the other hand, your shows are distributed on a ready built network with existing audience. No technical investments or setup on your part. I think if you already own a business this is a great research tool because it has a list of what videos people want to watch and learn about. For example, in the Children and Parenting category - 2nd on the list is how to potty train and third is things to do with a toddler on a rainy day.

Below is one of the videos available for purchase. It’s very cute and educational as well.

Who Stole my Ipod?

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

I've got an iPod. Doesn't everyone?I was late getting in on the Ipod craze. I couldn’t bring myself to part with the money necessary to buy it.  Finally, I did and I was glad that I did.  Now, I can never seem to find it when I want it.  Why, because someone keeps stealing it.  Not literally, its just my husband or my son borrowing it as they say, but it sure is getting used by others more than me!

Ipods are a great gadget.  Holding tons of music, podcast and other audios, videos even on some models and mine hold pictures too.  All of this in a tiny hand held, super lightweight gadget.  The neat accessories such as sports bands you can strap on your arm make it easy to take this little gadget with you virtually anywhere.  Plus you can also get the home stereo type accessories and utilize this great gadget as your primary music source.

One of the best things about an Ipod to me is the ability to download songs one by one from Itunes.com that I want to hear not having to purchase a whole CD like in the old days just to get the one song I was craving hearing.  That’s a money saver in itself, and has made this purchase worth it in my book.
