011 I love receiving my FamilyFun magazine. So packed with ideas especially for an unimaginative mom like me. I found this really cool. Smilebox and FamilyFun partnered to create online recipe cards. You can create your very own recipe pages, upload your own pictures, add music and email them to family and friends. I think you can also blog and print them. So fun.

It Does It All

mixerI love it when I find a kitchen tools that has more than one use. It saves me space in my cabinets and money in my pocket. This multi purpose mixer has two beaters for mixing and whipping; a dough hook for kneading; a cup for blending; and a chopper that allows chopping of nuts, veggies, or cheese. The motor is powerful and comes in three speeds, and if you are in a hurry it has a power-pulse button. Which I find I use more often than not.

The blending option is great for smoothies, mixing puddings or making homemade dressing. If you are a mom with a baby and are thinking of making your own baby food the puree attachment would be a very handy tool. The design is sturdy and strong, with the attachments easy to clean. This all in one mixer will be come your most used appliance.

Slicing Bananas Made Easier

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

Banana slicerMy boys love to eat bananas and I love the healthy benefits of bananas. Bananas rarely cause allergies and they only contain natural sugars that offer instant energy. Bananas provide your body with a good dose of vitamin C and antioxidants. These are a perfect snack to have on hand for my sports loving boys. The problem is that I am not always there to help them slice the bananas when they have them in their cereal or yogurt.

The banana slicer has made cutting bananas easy, even my boys can do it. It cuts an entire banana all in one slice, making perfectly even slices. Now bananas don’t go to waste, they can be used for fruit salads, cereal, or smoothies. And I don’t have to worry about my boys cutting their fingers when trying to slice a banana. If you are mom of younger kids who want to do things themselves, this is the perfect gadget that helps them feel more independent.
