Time For Saving

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

pennyjar Actually, any time is a good time for saving. Good economy or not. But since things are on a down turn lately, it doesn’t hurt to tighten things up even further. I for one have always been thrifty enough. We buy store brands and make do without.

Lately, I’ve also started using coupons - no I’m not one of those super motivated get things for free and have a closet full of make up or shampoo that I never use. But I do use them especially for items I know I’ll be using. I’ve even tried menu planning but honestly, haven’t quite got the hang of it yet.

When I married my husband, I told him I’m not a home maker. So don’t expect a spotless home and meals cooked on time every night. That doesn’t mean I don’t try. That’s why I need all the help I can get.

Thankfully, a friend, Cara Mirabella wrote up this handy dandy Save Money on Groceries guide. I really like the meal planning basics section. I see now, reading this guide I wasn’t very systematic when meal planning that first time. Anyhow, if you’d like to save some money on your groceries, grab this guide now now. 100% free. No strings attached.

Organizing Your Grocery Shopping

Friday, September 5th, 2008

GroceryI am one of those Moms who does not like to grocery shop and when I go shopping I inevitably end up forgetting something. It has been a constant battle until I found the grocery list organizer. Forget about writing lists out and trying to organize your items, the grocery list organizer does it for you.

When you are in a hurry but realize you are out of milk, you simply push the organizer’s record button and speak the word “milk.” This handy gadget can hang on your wall or you can use the magnetic back to attach to the refrigerator. This is great because other family members can add to the list also. You can also record errands that you need to run. When you are read to shop simply print out your list using the built-in printer, the errands print out on top and the food items are listed by category. Shopping has become much easier and better organized.
