Free Workout Plans

Sunday, August 24th, 2008

030 Ok, I know we just blogged about a new work out site but this is the one I really wanted to share. Like Traineo, Gyminee helps you achieve your work out goals and does all the regular tracking and stuff.

Gyminee however, actually has workouts created by its users you can follow. They also have video clips of exercises so you can learn new workouts or learn to do them right. That I like.

There are two levels of workouts. Free and Pro. Pro workouts are created by certified fitness trainers. It also includes a meal planner and advanced nutrition statistics all for $15 for 3 months.

Get Fit Web 2.0 Style

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

With the advent of blogs, I’ve seen many moms blog about their fitness goals and have their readers cheer them on. I think that’s great. Traineo also works a bit like that except to me, it’s more motivating because you can actually see how many people have done what and how many calories everyone has reported they burned so far.

029 If you’re competitive like me, boy that sure is motivation. Basically, you set up a free account, invite four friends and family members to cheer you on and witness your achievements. It also does other things like tracking your progress.

There are groups within the site you can join. For example I just put myself in a moms group where there’s already some forum threads going on. It doesn’t look like you can invite group members to review your work outs. But I guess if you find a buddy you can always get their email and invite them that way.

Kid’s First Treadmill And Excercise Machines

Kids First Treadmill Excercise MachineAren’t these so cute? From Aqua Leisure, a whole range of kid sized exercise machines. There’s the treadmill, an exercise bike and a glider like one of those gazelles. Makes me wish we had a room to dedicate to a gym. How fun would it be to exercise with your kids? I’m already thinking family spinning classes :) but that’s probably wishful thinking.

According to Readers Digest - where I read about this - kids get bored with it like we do and the equipment becomes yet another piece of furniture.

My girls love doing Step with me. Maybe we should just find some bargain Step on ebay or something.
