Online Shopping: What’s Important To You?
by Lynette
We shop for a lot of things online. No surprises there. One of my pet peeves is outrageous shipping & handling. Yes, I know gas is high, shipping is expensive. Still, it just doesn’t gel when a store wants to charge me $10 S&H on an item like a tiny, super light SD card. Shoot, $10 could be about half or equal to the price of the product. Sure, the handling part is where I pay for them to pack it in a neat, nice package plus labor.
Yet, shouldn’t that be factored into the product price? I know it’s a marketing tactic, make the product seem to cost less. Plus, the seller doesn’t lose so much money when there are returns… Anybody see how this is all skewed to the benefit of the seller?
Anyhow, when I shop online, the price of the product doesn’t always seal the deal for me. It’s the final cost - to my door that almost always clinches the deal. If it’s a close call, the next important thing to me is experience - how familiar am I with the store or have I shopped with them which is closely tied to reputation of course.

I look for free shipping deals all the time - and clearance and sale items. I’m a deal seeker LOL and will wait for days until I can find it how I want it.
You should see my Amazon wish list! Hahahahaha

I’m like you, I look for the total final cost when shopping online, whether I’m buying from eBay or Amazon. Sometimes, I would spend $25 or more just to get free shipping from Amazon.

Yup. I am Amazon.com Prime Member. Even though I pay every year to get in, to me it’s worth it because $70 a year is not as bad if you consider how much some people charge for shipping & handling.
Plus, I love Amazon’s 2 day free shipping with the Prime membership. I have paid more for something in Amazon because I can ship it for free, lowering my out of pocket costs considerably.
