Kingston 1GB DataTraveler USB Drive

by Lynette

kingstondriveI purchased this 2 months ago to carry stuff around the house easily. I love it because now I can load up 1GB worth of audio even video tutorials for my work and oh yes, movies ;-), pop it into my laptop to watch/listen whenever I get on the treadmill. It works great on both Windows and Mac the only problem and I just noticed this yesterday, the cap is broke :-(

I honestly do not know if it’s because my kids were playing with it that caused the sides to crack but I think not. They’ve only handled it once or twice. And I remember when I first got it, I was disappointed there was no easy way to store the cap while in use. So I thought I’d put the cap over the back end - see where the gray is sticking out the back? That worked great although it felt - uhm tight. I’d worried it would break the cap but paid no attention.

Now looking at where it cracked, I believe that’s the real cause. The thing is quite broken now it wouldn’t even stay on very well so I gotta get creative with this thing. Otherwise, I love it. Wish it had some kinda of security feature but.. that’s no biggie at this point in time. It’s also a great bargain! eCost.com is having a rebate on it making it a cool $19!
Can’t beat that price for a 1GB drive even with the design flaws. Just be careful with the cover if you get it.
