Homedics Shiatsu Massaging Cushion
by Carin
I love getting massages. To curb my constant pestering for massages, my hubby decided to get me the Homedics Therapist Select Shiatsu Massaging Cushion With Heat for my birthday one year. It is the best birthday present he has ever given me! This thing rocks!
This massaging cushion has two massage mechanisms that move up and down both sides of your spine. There are two massaging options to choose from, Shiatsu or Rolling. The Rolling mode provides a smooth rolling motion up and down your back. Whereas the Shiatsu mode does a more of a twist and turn movement to provide a more intense massage.
I personally prefer the Shiatsu mode as I like the more intense massage. The nice thing about this mode is that you can also set the massage in a spot to help work out even the tightest knots. In the Rolling mode however, there is no spot option but you can adjust the width of the massage rollers on each side of the spine for a custom-tailored experience. In both modes, you can also select whether you would like a Full, Upper or Lower massage on your back. The seat of the massager also comes with a 3 speed vibrating option. There is also a black pad attached to the top of the massager that you can flip over the cushion to soften the massage if you like.
I love the heat feature. It really provides soothing relief to my aching muscles. The massager will stop after 15 minutes. But there is nothing to stop you from re-starting it again for another round of massage! But I would suggest waiting a few minutes before doing so.
The cushion easily fits on to most chairs. We have it attached to our office chair. Nothing like getting a massage while surfing the net! This is a great option for someone who can’t afford a professional masseur and yet likes to get massages often.

I had one of these - older model. Got it for my husband for Christmas two years ago. I like it too but my only gripe with it is, it doesn’t go up far enough. But now they have a neck massager now that might be nice. Coz that’s where I usually hurt from sitting at the desk.
