mixerI love it when I find a kitchen tools that has more than one use. It saves me space in my cabinets and money in my pocket. This multi purpose mixer has two beaters for mixing and whipping; a dough hook for kneading; a cup for blending; and a chopper that allows chopping of nuts, veggies, or cheese. The motor is powerful and comes in three speeds, and if you are in a hurry it has a power-pulse button. Which I find I use more often than not.

The blending option is great for smoothies, mixing puddings or making homemade dressing. Parking Safely

Monday, September 8th, 2008

In the past people hung tennis balls in their garage to monitor when they have pulled in their car far enough. I did not know about this gadget until I saw my in-laws install a parking alert for their cars. This alert takes the guess work out of parking. One sensor is mounted on the wall at bumper height, the other one is located further up where the driver can easily see it.

There are no electrical cords and it is easy to install. Once installed you set the senor on the back to 1, 2 or 3 feet, and as the car is approaching a yellow light begins to flash and when you reach the desired location the light turns to a solid red. Now there is no worry of hitting the wall or objects that are hard to see when pulling into a garage. This is perfect for teenage drivers and adults alike.

GroceryI am one of those Moms who does not like to grocery shop and when I go shopping I inevitably end up forgetting something. It has been a constant battle until I found the grocery list organizer. Forget about writing lists out and trying to organize your items, the grocery list organizer does it for you.

When you are in a hurry but realize you are out of milk, you simply push the organizer’s record button and speak the word “milk.” This handy gadget can hang on your wall or you can use the magnetic back to attach to the refrigerator. This is great because other family members can add to the list also. You can also record errands that you need to run. When you are read to shop simply print out your list using the built-in printer, the errands print out on top and the food items are listed by category. Shopping has become much easier and better organized.

Slicing Bananas Made Easier

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

Banana slicerMy boys love to eat bananas and I love the healthy benefits of bananas. Bananas rarely cause allergies and they only contain natural sugars that offer instant energy. Bananas provide your body with a good dose of vitamin C and antioxidants. These are a perfect snack to have on hand for my sports loving boys. The problem is that I am not always there to help them slice the bananas when they have them in their cereal or yogurt.

The banana slicer has made cutting bananas easy, even my boys can do it. It cuts an entire banana all in one slice, making perfectly even slices. Now bananas don’t go to waste, they can be used for fruit salads, cereal, or smoothies. And I don’t have to worry about my boys cutting their fingers when trying to slice a banana. If you are mom of younger kids who want to do things themselves, this is the perfect gadget that helps them feel more independent.
