Hubby Did Well With Wireless Headphones

Saturday, August 16th, 2008

My husband doesn’t get very many opportunities to buy me gifts - not because he doesn’t want to or doesn’t remember. I just don’t let him. Long story.

sennheiser-wireless-headphone Yet, he surprised me one birthday with a set of wireless headsets. They aren’t those high quality Sennheiser ones but they do the job. What do I do with it? Well… my office is right next to my girls’ bedroom. Some nights when working late, I like to keep the TV.

Being a touch deaf, the TV often gets turned on a bit loud and I don’t want to wake the kids (oh it’ll be a sleepless night if I did). The wireless headphones are super helpful here. Another one of my favorite uses is to be able to exercise and listen to my TV or computer.

My elliptical is in my office too (sounds like I live in my office huh?) it gets kinda loud when you’re on it. Which means I’d have to turn the TV or the computer even louder in order to listen while exercising. Wireless headphones to the rescue again.

Surge Protection

Friday, August 15th, 2008

Wouldn’t you like to know what electronics are cost you the most money? Did you know all plugged in electronics still drain watts while turned off? Kill A Watt PS allows you to see what each electronic device is costing you. Plug your electronics into the built in surge protector then Kill A Watt PS will determine how efficient they are. Living in an area where hurricanes can hit, surge protectors are a must for all electronics, but to know which ones to un-plug when you are done using them is a bonus.

You will now be able to know how much your computer or home theater system is using. The Kill A Watt PS checks the quality of your power, monitors line frequency, the amperage, KWH, and if there is any current leakage. It comes with a 6′ Foot cord, with six regular outlets and two wide outlets.

This is the perfect gadget that will end up saving you money!

Sansa Shaker Keeps The Little One Happy

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

“I’m saving money for a MVP Player” said my 5 year old. That’s MP3 player for your knowledge. A few months earlier, I gave her sister one of mine that I no longer used. The poor girl had to wait till her sister falls asleep so she can sneak in a few minutes of listening time.

Since then, she’s been reminding us about it and saving for one. So while shopping in RiteAid two weeks ago, we found the SanDisk Sansa Shaker (512 MB) for only $14.99. It’s on its way out being an older model so I said why not?

This thing turned out nicely because it has a built in speaker. Tiny one yes and it’s not as loud as your boombox (thank goodness!) but loud enough. She’s been super thrilled with it. As for mommy. I really like the mini speaker because it allows her to share her music and keeps her from falling asleep in a tangle of earphone wires (scary!)

By the way, if you want to find free downloadable MP3’s you can fill up your little ones’ MP3 players with. Free Kids Music is where I always go to. It has kept my eldest entertained for hours. The music is totally kid friendly and some are very silly too. Great music for families.
