We all realize that accidents happen even when we are the most cautious of parents. But as a mom I am still very over protective and terrified of something happening to my children. I want to do all I can to prevent their injury or worse death.

One of the things that I have a horror of is accidentally running over my children. I have heard stories of this happening and therefore I am extra cautious, even still I have had the experience of accidentally hitting a family pet and experiencing the grief even that brought on. I cannot imagine the feelings that would accompany hitting your own child.

It is for this reason that I looked into something to prevent this. The Daytona Brands Auto Alert Car or SUVs Backup Alert will help give you that extra peace of mind alerting you if anything is behind your vehicle, a bike, a person, a dog. anything. This to me is worth the cost of the item. I have plans to purchase and install one on my vehicle as soon as possible.

I spend alot of time on the road. I travel quite a bit for business and most of the time we travel via our mini van. Many times because we like to take the family. Traveling with family you want to be super safe. We take as many precautions as we can, including having the van serviced before we leave, making sure our spare is up, checking the air in our tires, and packing a jump start or battery charger.

Nothing is worse than being stranded on the side of the road, but with a Jump Starter & Emergency Power Source you don’t have to be. It can provide you some added security and help you to get on your way. They are easy to use, help jump start your car in the case of a low battery and can be recharged to use again and again. It is a perfect gift for anyone who is on the road alot and a lifesaver too.

Some of these battery charging varieties even have a radio included.

Last week I had something happen to me for the very first time in my life. I got pulled over by a cop for speeding. Mind you I realize that I was actually speeding, but nothing overly fast. Nonetheless I was guilty. Luckily, I did not get a ticket, but it would have been bad if I had.

Now, I’m thinking I might need one of these:

Do any of you have experience using a Radar Detector ? I remember when I was in high school I had a lot of college friends who had them. They obviously flew down the interstate back and forth from college, but me on the other hand I just putted around town as I do now and never saw any real use for one.

What do you think? Is a radar detector a gadget this mom should get? Will it get me out of the dreaded speeding ticket?

If you’ve used an automobile in the United States lately then you’ve probably felt the pinch on your wallet every time you’ve gone to fill up your gas tank. If so, then you could benefit from the Neo Socket, it is an amazing breakthrough in fuel conservation that could save you money on your automobile gas bill.

I’d surely be willing to pay a few bucks for a product that could do that, especially one that wouldn’t harm the earth at the same time.

The Neo Socket is said to do all of the following:

Save on Gas, Save the Earth

Increased Gas Mileage!

Lower Emissions!

Increased Horsepower!

Longer battery life!

Easy to use and starts working instantly!

Why not give it a try? After all, what could it hurt right?

We had relatives from Baltimore visit us recently. When they arrived they wanted to travel to see my boys football game, but we were not able to get directions to them in time. Well with their GPS navigation system they found out where we were and was able to arrive in time for the games. Is giving people directions becoming a thing of the past? For me personally, I hope so because I am not good at giving directions.

The GPS navigation map covers millions of areas of interest, it can lead you to the closest ATMs or gas station. The large screen makes it easy to read at a glance. It also can provide the driver with real-time traffic updates. The unit can be easy removed and slipped into a bag, pocket or glove compartment. You can use it wherever you need it. I am so glad my relatives had this unit, we had a fun day of football and they were able to see their nephews play for the first time.

As a driver I believe the most vulnerable time is when we are backing up our vehicle. The fear is that a bike or possibly an animal is lying behind one of the back wheels. Or worse yet, a child. Recently singer/songwriter Steven Curtis Chapman had a family tragedy where this device could have been a lifesaver. Hopefully in the future they will make this gadget mandatory in all vehicles.

The Automotive Video Parking Sensor License Plate Bracket has built-in sensors so you can see if there is an animal or person in close proximity to your vehicle. When the sensor on the back license plate detects an object within 3 feet, the wireless receiver inside the car will relay a sounding alert . As the vehicle moves closer to the object, the alert becomes louder and faster. The good news is the wireless device will not interfere with your AM/FM or even satellite radio.

This would be the perfect gift for a young family or as a baby shower gift.

Growing up I loved to read, so much so that my parents would have to MAKE me turn out my bedroom light or lamp. Later in life I discovered the clip on light, or reading light that is perfect for reading a book in bed. I even found a travel sized one at the dollar store that was perfect for traveling. I used it during college. It was so useful to have to read by especially late night study times.

I’m sure there are other uses you can find for such a light. They make these in other styles and models that work well with seeing under your car hood for example or illuminating the interior of your car to read while someone else is driving or to read your map on vacation at night.

There are many uses for this handy gadget which I’m sure you may think of that I haven’t mentioned. It makes a perfect gift for almost anyone in your life, so remember that when birthdays come or the holidays are approaching. Inexpensive but useful, what coul be a better gift?

I have been repeatedly impressed with this gadget as we have used it on a couple of family vacations, and other trips around. We purchased it after I had a horrible experience getting lost in New Orleans, and after returning there with good ole Tom, I was glad to have made the purchase. Tom will definitely not allow you to get lost. Its touchscreen and easy use features are a must for anyone who travels.

In fact, the only issue we’ve had with Tom is keeping him charged up so that we can enjoy his presence throughout the trip.

Do your kids have a DVD player in your family vehicle? Is it a lifesaver for you on long road trips. Whether your vehicle came with an in-house player or you purchased a portable you may be one of the millions of families who enjoy this family entertainer.

Not long ago my friends and I took a group of our kids to the zoo about two hours away. It was wonderful to turn around and see 6 happy faces as they watched a fun movie on the DVD player. It sure helped from having to answer, “Are we there yet?” every 2 minutes of this two hour trip. Plus, on the way home, they all zonked out after just a few minutes of another movie.

My husband and I also use this as a treat for my son, helping to reward him for good behavior in a restaurant. If he doesn’t behave in the restaurant he can’t watch his movie on the way home. So, it can be a great tool to use with your kids.

Whichever way you choose to use this great gadget, having a family entertainer or DVD player can be beneficial to the whole family.

I am a woman who often travels alone. More than that I am a woman, who often travels alone and is clueless about the mechanics of my vehicle. I know, I should try to learn, hey I can change my oil isn’t that good enough. That is if I HAD to. My dad taught me long ago.

However, if my vehicle were to loose battery power on a cold night on the side of the road I would want to be a little safer than my knowledge of cars and my abilities. That’s why I own a Jumpstarter. A Jumpstarter like the one Duracell sells is a great lifesaver for those of us who don’t want to be caught stranded, alone on the side of the road.

Now, though I’ve never had to use mine on the side of the road, I have used it in the comfort of my garage and it was still a lifesaver when my battery had lost its charge. I highly recommend every mom and dad out there get one. In fact, my dear ole dad was the one who bought mine for me!
