Beep! Locate My Kid Please
by Lynette
Our loyal reader Darina pointed this kid tracker out to me (thanks girlfriend!) It beeps when your wanders a little too far away from you. Great for public places.
I wonder how loud the beeps are though. I’ve seen this on eBay before they have one or two other designs but for the life of me can’t find them now anymore.
There are also alternatives that work more like the key locators. You press a button and the unit will beep to help you locate the child. They can get pretty expensive but let’s start with the Giggle Bug Kid Tracker. Looking at the pictures it looks rather large though but I do like the tamper proof clip and the fact that it beeps continuously if it’s removed or dislodged. My only ‘problem’ with this is, it’ll
only beep when you press or button or try to remove it. So… if a child is abducted and removed from the range (150ft), you still won’t hear it. So it sounds like the one Darina recommended is a better idea but I think they both have just a very slight different of use.
An upgrade from the Giggle Bug is the ionKids Kid Locator Starter Kit. This one can locate up to 4 kids. Works the same way. If you have an older kid, the Wherifone GPS Locator Phone is pretty interesting.
