cableyoyo_xl.jpg

I love organizing and storage so when I saw this cableyoyo on sale – I knew I had to share! I bought a laptop about a month ago and ever since I’ve enjoyed a lack of cords surrounding my work station. I have yet to switch my music and podcasts to it though and every time I go back to the desktop to update my iTunes (and thus my iPod), I am annoyed with the cords. I never did buy a pack when learning about the cableyoyo’s before, but I am not letting this sale pass me up.

PS. Yep we have written about this product before – Lynette posted about it at Cable Organizer Solution Found.

It’s the iFrogz Tadpole.

iFrogz Tadpole

Doesn’t that look so cool!

The handles look like the handles from sippy cups so you know it’s easy to hold on to. The case also is completely around the iPod so should the child get bored (or their attention wonder) they won’t be able to stick anything into the openings. Neither of my kids have attempted this but I’ve only let them listen to the iPod while being around me.

My kids both love my ipod. I have childrens cds loaded but they also like various artists (that I so kindly introduced them to – LOL) and they both love to dance. I actually sent my Mom a series of pictures of my daughter dancing while listening to the ipod. We have various ipod accessories and my daughter actually asked for an ipod for Christmas. Keep in mind she is five, so of course I had to tell her sorry but Santa wasn’t able to bring her one this time.

The iFrogz site also offers children headphones compatible with the Tadpole. The case is inexpensive at $24.99 with a screen protector and a worthwhile investment if your children are as interested in the video ipod as mine are.

Alright Moms, who is a Mac geek and refreshed their browsers while Apple was announcing news today (a couple of blogs I read were updating as things happened from the presentation location)?

Not me. LOL That’s right, I am so not a Mac person! But I love the Apple products I’ve come across. I was confused as to why the itunes store was down this afternoon and after reading a few blogs I realize now why it was down.

News about the ipod ~ Check out the stats for the video ipod (my favorite gadget!):

Video iPod: brighter screen, longer battery life, new earphone design, gapless playback, instant searching, games AND a new price! 30GB and 80GB, white or black, $249 and $349

Many of my friends have the ipod nano and one of them emailed me and said she wanted to buy one in a new color. LOL
iPod Nano: longer battery life, aluminum casing in COLORS, new earphone design. 2GB, 4GB and 8GB, $149, $199 and $249.

And look at this:

shuffle pic

Look at how teeny tiny the shuffle is! Wow! That is amazing. I’d like to get one and put upbeat songs to exercise to – very easy to carry and I wouldn’t have to mess with my video ipod.

iPod Shuffle: tiny, aluminum case with clip, 1GB at $79

Oh and there are now games available for the video ipod on itunes! I like the idea, I think it would be fun, but really, I don’t need even more distractions. I could get them and take them in the car for my kids….

You can also buy movies from itunes! I’m not sure that is such a great thing …. I’d want to be able to burn to a dvd and watch on my tv – not on my computer. Then again, I don’t have a laptop so maybe it would be cool there.

Oh but wait, there was another last minute announcement!

Coming in ’07, you will be able to get your media to your tv via this wireless “itv” (a codename, they will change it later). How cool is that!

Wow I just wrote more about Apple then I ever thought I would. LOL

Is anyone planning on purchasing an ipod since these announcements came out today? Other then the shuffle, I admit to being very interested in the “iTV” – considering what it will be used for, it was quoted today as selling for $299. I don’t think that is a bad price.

I have been lucky to share cell phone service with other members of my family – my Mom, step dad, myself and my husband are all on one Verizons family plan. It’s great, especially with us moving last winter. Right before we moved, my husband and I both had to get new phones because mine broke and he lost his. Talk about bad timing!

But recently my phone broke – again! This time in a different spot. I have a flip phone and one of the hinges is acting up and finally broke. I can still use the phone, but it is definitely on last legs.

You can imagine my twinge of jealousy when my Mom calls and says “I got such a cool new phone, go look it up online and see.” And she directed me to this picture:

Yep, there’s that jealousy twinge again! The Treo is such a cool phone! Doesn’t it just look fun? You can check your email, surf the web, take pictures (and video!), listen to music and text message.

Okay so the only text messages I get are pictures of my newest nephew from my brother, and I only call a handful of people since I also have free long distance at home. And I don’t really love the idea of a phone slash a million extra things (especially an mp3 player, it just feels a little odd to me).
But I could just maybe change my mind for that Treo.

How about you Moms – is there a cell phone you would like?

With all the hot weather we have been having here in the south – and the humidity is so NOT helping! – my blender has been a permanent fixture on the counter. I have an Oster that we got a few years ago and I love it.

blender

If you have little counter space, a blender is one must have! We usually have a smoothie with breakfast, and another something in the afternoon. I have found there are many blender recipes for food too – something I don’t usually think of, but hey if it can cut time off of the prepping of food for mealtimes ~ I am all for it!

My favorite blender recipe is a breakfast smoothie: orange juice concentrate (one can), bananas (1-2 chopped, it depends on how much you like bananas!), a handful of strawberries and ice. The recipe makes alot so be prepared to share. Or put it in the freezer and enjoy in the afternoon.

Do you have a blender? What is your favorite recipe?

I have to say I love Kelly’s favorite gadget LOL but here’s mine.

Video ipod

I love my video ipod. I was always saying I wanted an mp3 player, and usually would say I would get around to buying one. When the video ipod came out, I put that at the top of my wishlist! I have the 30gig one and that plenty of space – for now anyway. LOL My ipod is full of podcasts – there are some albums on there, but I usually watch a video podcast while I work out or listen to a podcast while walking around the neighborhood.

I bought a case for my video ipod and it came with a carabiner, which is great for when I am walking. You definitely need a case on the off chance you drop it or your kids get a hold of it.
