Lighted Message Board

lighted-board-pic.jpgI would like one of these in my house – a Lighted Message Board. I currently have two dry erase boards in the house. They do a good job helping me keep track of my appointments, reminders, etc…but they just don’t look as cool as one of these lighted message boards! It says that all you have to do is write on the board using one of the two special pens that are included and turn on the light. You can set it to show in a single color or multicolor and also for it to blink or flash. No more excuses from anyone not noticing your messages any more! The board is portable and runs on three AAA batteries so you can set it up anywhere around your house or office. So chic!

Soy Lotion Candle

soycandle_pic.jpgI like the Essence Of Beauty Soy Lotion Candles that you can get from CVS. They come in different scents including Passion Flower, Citrus Coconut, Purple Fields and Pomegranate Apple.

This is a 3-in-1 candle, lotion and massage oil made from all-natural soy. These soy candles melt at a low temperature to create a warm and soothing lotion for you to apply on your skin. All you have to do is trim the wick, light the candle until the lotion forms, extinguish the flame and the lotion is ready for use.  These candles burn 30% longer than wax candles with a burn time of 50 hours. They are also soot free. These candles retail for approximately $10 each.

Oral-B Vitality Precision Clean Power Toothbrush

oralb_pic.jpgI switched from a manual toothbrush to an electric toothbrush a few years ago and I have never looked back. When my first electric toothbrush died, I looked around for a replacement but did not want to spend a lot of money on it.

I finally settled on the Oral-B Vitality Precision Clean Power Toothbrush. It costs far less than other rechargeable electric toothbrushes. It is actually a rechargeable version of a battery-powered toothbrush. That’s the only downside about this toothbrush is that once the battery dies, so does the toothbrush. But I’ve heard that you can get a few years of use out of it before the battery dies.

The cool feature that comes with this toothbrush is the pulsating signal after two minutes of recommended brushing time. Too often, I find myself not brushing long enough so this feature really helps.

The brush head only spins. It doesn’t pulse or move from side-to-side or does any of the other fancy stuff. You are also not able to control the speed of the brushing. Still, it is way better than using a manual toothbrush. I find that the round brushhead really surrounds each tooth and it’s also easy to reach those hard to reach areas. My teeth feel really clean after each brushing. It really does help keep plaque and gum diseases away. I had my last dentist check-up about a month ago and I still get good reports from the dentist even though I switched from a more expensive electric toothbrush to this. So, obviously, it’s getting the job done at a lesser cost!

There is currently a sale on this particular toothbrush on Amazon. It costs only $14.99 and it’s eligible for free super saver shipping. You can’t beat the price! As for the brushheads, I would recommend getting replacements off Ebay as they are cheaper than getting them from the stores. If you’ve never owned an electric toothbrush before, this would be a good start.

Veggie Wash

veggiewash_pic1.jpg

How do you clean your fruits and vegetables? Do you just rinse with water alone? I find that that is never enough for me. I am always so paranoid about all the pesticides and chemicals that are stuck on the fruits and vegetables that won’t go away with just rinsing with water alone.

I cannot afford an all-organic diet. So, I looked around and found this great product! It is called Veggie Wash. Veggie Wash is a 100% natural way to remove wax, soil and chemicals from your fruits and vegetables. Veggie Wash is made from ingredients naturally derived from corn, coconut, lemon and grapefruit seed extract and it contains no harsh chemicals. It is also free from any kinds of animal testing.

I have been using Veggie Wash for a couple of years now and absolutely love it. It really gets rid of that waxy feeling that you normally find on some fruits and vegetables. For firmer produce such as apples and peppers, spray with Veggie Wash and rub for 20-30 seconds and rinse thoroughly with water. For softer produce like lettuce and broccoli, swish it in diluted Veggie Wash and water. Use Veggie Wash only prior to eating the produce as it removes the preservatives and chemicals on the produce and may speed up the aging process.

You can use Veggie Wash for more than just to clean your fruits and vegetables. You can also use it to clean countertops, cutting boards, etc. without using harmful chemicals. Veggie Wash can be found in grocers throughout the country or can be ordered online.

The company that produces Veggie Wash also produces other products like air fresheners, cleaners, soaps and sanitizers, etc. All their products are all-natural and very reasonably priced. If you order online, you also receive points that you can later redeem.

Pond’s Clean Sweep Cleansing and Make-Up Remover Towelettes

ponds_pic.jpg

I have a new-found favorite – Pond’s Clean Sweep Cleansing and Make-Up Remover Towelettes. I bought a pack of these for my trip to Miami as I did not feel like traveling with liquid make-up remover.

These pre-moistened towelettes come in a resealable pack and each towelette unfolds to a full-size to deep clean down to the pores and lift away dirt, residue and impurities while removing long-lasting make-up in one easy and convenient step without any rinsing.

I like these for the days where I’m so lazy but I know I need to clean my face before heading off to bed. It really does take off all the make-up except that it does take longer if you are wearing waterproof mascara. It leaves my skin feeling so clean and soft without drying it too much. The towelettes are hypoallergenic and really gentle and doesn’t feel harsh on my sensitive skin. I have been using it for a week now with no side-effects.

The first time you use it, you may notice that your face is kind of “soapy” after using it but that dries up quickly and you will begin to like the feeling that it’s not too drying and harsh on your skin. I love how the towelettes have just the right amount of moisture, they stay wet and don’t dry out but not too wet till they are dripping.

I also like the very light, refreshing scent on these towelettes. These towelettes are textured, strong and don’t tear easily. In my opinion, these towelettes are quite big in size that you can even cut them in half and double the usage especially if you don’t have a lot of make-up on and just need a quick cleaning. I don’t know if I would use these every day though. But they are great for traveling.

Emergen-C Super Energy Booster

emergen_pic.JPG

I first found out about Emergen-C Super Energy Booster at a health food store. They were selling individual packets in different flavors at the counter. I bought 3 packets in different flavors to try. On the packaging, it says that it contains 1000 milligrams of Vitamin C, 32 mineral complexes and B vitamins. It’s not only good as a quick pick-me-upper but it also strengthens your immune system.

All you have to do is mix the individual packets with 4-6 ounces of water and you don’t have to stir. It fizzes and it’s a little on the tangy side which I really like. It beats drinking plain water. And it’s really yummy and comes in all kinds of great flavors like Tangerine, Cranberry, Raspberry, Super Orange, Tropical, etc. I drank the 3 packets and went out to buy more! You can get them at most drug stores or health food stores. I get mine from Walmart as it’s cheaper there.

I usually drink this when I’m feeling a little tired in the afternoons and need a quick energy boost without resorting to caffeine. It says that you can drink 2-4 packets of these per day. But usually, I just drink one.

I also take this when I feel like I’m coming down with a cold or something. I would drink 2-3 packets of these per day. And it usually helps ward off whatever is going around and even if I do get it, I find that I’m able to recover quicker than I used to. And you don’t have to worry about getting an upset stomach as this is in a non-acidic, stomach-friendly formula.

The individual packets are great for traveling. I usually have a couple of packets in my handbag so that I can have them whenever I feel like it. It helps me cut down on the caffeine intake too!

Digital Photo Display

ornament.JPG

I spent the whole weekend doing Christmas shopping. Thank God I have a toddler who enjoys shopping as much as I do! I hit all the major departmental stores, discount stores, you name it. One thing I do enjoy doing while shopping is to also see what other people are getting as Christmas presents. One of the “in” things this season seems to be digital photo frames. I guess it is because they make relatively inexpensive gifts for just about anyone you know.

Digital photo frames have really changed the way how people view photos these days. Now, all your wonderful snapshots can be constantly displayed in all areas of your home or office in a stylish digital photo frame. Instead of having fifty different photo frames, you only need one! Talk about saving space.  You can even set the period of time you want your pictures to be displayed and also the transitions that you prefer between these pictures.

For more portable options, you can also go for a digital photo keychain or digital photo wallet.

But my personal favorite for this holiday season is the digital photo ornament. So cute!! Many of these ornaments can store over 50 photos that you can display as a slideshow or individual stills on the Christmas ornament’s miniature LCD screen. All you need to do is to install a tiny piece of software on your computer that will resize copies of your photos and transfer them to the ornament via a USB cable that is included.

The image quality of these pics on the ornament are not the same as what you would get on your high definition TV or computer. They look more like pictures taken using a cell phone camera. But they still look pretty decent considering that it’s an ornament. Just remember that the ornament is not to replace real photos  but it will look SO cool on your Christmas tree this year or those loved ones who are lucky enough to receive one from you!
