Whiteboard Walls For Fun And More

I’ve been bitten with the whiteboard wall bug. Can’t exactly say what triggered it but it certainly has been on my mind so much that last night, convinced my husband to cover one entire wall in our hallway in white melamine.

This is supposed to be the same material that’s being used on whiteboards. I do not know how effective it will be but it’s cheap enough at $12 a panel at the local Lowes to give it a try. I’m really excited to get this project under way. This hallway has dark paneling (don’t ask) that I absolutely do not like and not only will it give our home a tiny face lift, I envision it would be a really nice addition.

For me and hubby it’ll primarily be used for business brainstorming and likely messages. For the children, it’ll be a very large and fun place to doodle, draw and unleash their creativity.

Do you have a whiteboard wall in your home? What materials did you use?

I'm glad you brought up the point about paint. I hate painting. I'd much rather go for a root canal than paint. Furthermore, I just can't imagine all that chalk dust in my house you know. When I was a teenager, I convinced mom to buy me a rollup chalk board. It's really a large vinyl that you can roll out or up and hang it on the wall - write on with a chalk.

Loved having a place to brainstorm on my wall but the trouble was the dust! Ugh it was everywhere. That's the thing that make me hesitate on the chalkboard.

Now that is a great idea! And so much easier then having to paint on blackboard paint.
