I so want this gadget. It’s the Archos AV 700 Digital Media Player and Recorder. We have a DVD recorder we use to record TV shows and movies but the problem with DVD Recorders, they can be sensitive to the type of disks. There are times after painstakingly recording a movie for 2 hours, during the writing process the recorder fails. And either we wait for the movie to come on again so we can record it all over or just feggedaboudit. Very frustrating. We toyed around the idea of buying one with a Hard Drive built in but price wise, they are quite high. Besides that would only solve half of our problems.
Very often we watch different shows. Sometimes hubby wants to record a show on his set but have you ever tried moving a set top recorder? What a pain! Now the Archos AV700 is perfect. Stick it in the TV and hit record – few things are that simple these days and the quality is reported to be awesome!
There are so many things I can think of using this for. E.g. showing off our home made movies to friends/family who don’t have a computer when we visit them, load up the kid’s DVD movies when we go on the road and on and on. Ah… but it’s only now a dream in my wish list crossing fingers I’d get this in under the tree in December
